A jingle is a song or tune used in advertising and for other commercial uses. A jingle contains one or more hooks and meaning that explicitly promote the product or service being advertised, usually through the use of one or more advertising slogans and we can write you a jingle!

“What is your process while composing, recording and mixing?”

Firstly we discuss with you what are you looking to achieve with the jingle, what style you would like, what is it advertising, do you want male or female vocals, what is the purpose of the song, and do you have any musical, melodic or lyrical ideas already? This is done before we send you a custom quote, and makes sure we understand what you’re looking to achieve from the song, and how we can work on it.

Once we begin on the project we will produce a basic demo of our ideas. For a typical short jingle, the demo would be a full-length piece. It’s a very basic recording, recorded in our studio quickly as we’re composing ideas. The demo will usually use a drum loop, and only a few basically recorded instruments and vocals, but it enables you to hear the tempo, melodic ideas and direction of the song. Demos typically use ‘scratch lyrics’, made-up words and phrases that convey the melody, but we would include your brand or business so you can get a clear idea of the track.

On approval of the full demo, we move on to the lyrical content. We’re able to do this as we have already demoed the melodic structure. We work with you to make sure the lyrics and jingle contain the brand and direction you want, however, if you don’t have a preference either way we will write lyrics that we feel fit the mood and vibe of the jingle.

On approval of the lyrics, we start the recording. We record and engineer every jingle in our studio, and we’re hands-on during the whole process. After the recording is complete we will send you the first mix. We then discuss with you any changes you might want to the mix. Once you approve the final mix we can master it and send it to you in a high-quality WAV format.

“Do you provide cut downs and edits?”

Many companies like to have different length jingles for use on different formats, such as radio, TV or internet advertising. Before we begin the project we can discuss this with you and provide those edits. For example, a jingle could have a 1-minute mix, a 30-second mix and a 15-second mix. On all the mixes we make sure your brand and message is front and centre. 

“How many revisions do I get?”

This can be discussed before we start the process, but typically a jingle would have 2 revisions on the mix. As we’ve mentioned above, we always demo the song first and there are no revision limits on that process. Therefore, we can guarantee that you like the song and its direction before we start the final recording process. 

“What is your Jingle writing timescale?” 

Again, this can be discussed beforehand, and we are able to write and record very fast if it’s required. A typical jingle would take around 10 days to 2 weeks from demo stage to final recording, but after discussing your project with you we can give you a clearer time frame depending on the writing and production involved. 

“Can you write a jingle in any style?”

We have written 100s of songs in many styles, and have achieved success in various genres including rock, country, heavy metal, pop, jazz, blues, funk, soul, synthwave, retrowave, chillwave, reggae, singer-songwriter, folk and world music. “I already have lyrics or a poem, can you put these to music?”

Yes, this is quite a common request and we have worked with clients lyrics or poems and put them to a jingle. We can work with a lyrical idea no matter how big or small. 

“I already have some musical ideas, can you work with these?”

Again, this is a common request and we have written many jingles in this way. We are able to work with your musical ideas no matter what stage they are at.

 

“I only require a basic demo of a Jingle, can you provide that?”

Yes! We are also able to write and record simple jingle demos for clients who then take the song to their studio or a different producer and flesh it out from there. 

“Do I have to credit you for your work?”

For much for our work, we offer a ‘buy out’ – meaning we provide our service as ‘work for hire’ and you retain all commercial rights and copyright. In that scenario, you don’t have to credit us, and this has been the case with projects where we have been ghostwriters, however, you can also credit us if you wish and still retain all the commercial rights and copyright.
