A soundtrack refers to the collection of songs and musical arrangements played during a movie, video game or television show. We can provide original and unique soundtrack music here at DyHard Productions!

Depending on your project the style of the soundtrack can vary. Sometimes it’s one continuous piece of music that moves and changes with the visuals, on other occasions, it’s more a collection of tracks that fit various scenes and moods in the TV show or motion picture. At DyHard Productions we have written soundtracks for light shows, documentary movies, TV shows and apps / VR Experiences. We’re able to work with you so you get exactly the soundtrack that you require for your project.

“Can I hear examples of your work?”

Yes, please check out our songwriting portfolio HERE.

The songs contained are just a selection of our work, and we have also broken down the tracks into playlists to make it easier to find what you are looking for. Each song has some written detail regarding how we contributed to the track, from full songwriting and composition to top-line writing or mixing.

We also have a comprehensive Behance portfolio with more details on some of our favourite projects.

For soundtracks we’d like to recommend the documentary “BURAPA Bikers Of The East” – we composed the entire soundtrack to this hour-long film. It contains full songs, instrumental interludes and conventional soundtrack elements to help tell the story.

For video games and apps we’d like to recommend the ‘Candy Coaster VR App’. Timeloop Services hired us to write the music, and after discussing the project with their team, the objective was to write a piece of music that flowed with the rollercoaster and the viewer as they move through the app.

“What is your process while composing, recording and mixing a soundtrack?”

Firstly we discuss with you what are you looking to achieve with the soundtrack, what style you would like to include, what is the purpose of the soundtrack and what emotions are you trying to convey, and do you have any musical, melodic or lyrical ideas already? This is done before we send you a custom quote, and makes sure we understand what you’re looking to achieve from the project, and how we can work on it.

Once we begin on the project we will produce a basic demo of our ideas. It’s a very basic recording, recorded in our studio quickly as we’re composing ideas. The demo will usually use drum loops, and only a few basically recorded instruments and vocals, but it enables you to hear the tempo, melodic ideas and direction of the song. Demos typically use ‘scratch lyrics’, made-up words and phrases that convey the melody.

On approval of the full demo, we move on to the lyrical content, if the soundtrack includes any, and then begin the full recording. We record and engineer every song in our studio, and we’re hands-on during the whole process. After the recording is complete we will send you the first mix. We then discuss with you any changes you might want to the mix. Once you approve the final mix we can master it and send it to you in a high-quality WAV format. A soundtrack can be sent to you as a complete mix, but many filmmakers ask for each track separately to be placed into the movie during the editing process.

Soundtrack - Film, TV, Music and Soundtrack Writing

“Do you include sound effects?”

Yes, we can include sound effects, we have an extensive library of effects that can be incorporated into your video game, app or VR experience. These can be mixed into the soundtrack, or sent to you as separate files to be placed in during the final editing process.

“Can you write to picture?”

Yes, we love writing like this! Writing to a picture is the process of composing music while watching a movie, TV show or video game. It allows the composer to emphasise elements and change tempo and styles where needed. It greatly increases the emotional response of the user.

“What is the payment process & what files do you deliver?”

We accept payment via PayPal, and all prices are in USD. We request a 50% deposit before starting the composition, and 50% after your approval of the final mix. The mixes are sent to you in mp3 format, with a DyHard Productions audio watermark. Once the final mix is approved and the balance is paid we send you the full quality mix in a WAV file.

“How many revisions do I get?”

With a soundtrack, this very much depends on the length and scale of the project. We can discuss this with you beforehand and reach an agreement before the project commences.

“What is your Soundtrack writing timescale?”

Again, this can be discussed beforehand and depends on the scale of the project. Once we have all of the details from you we will give you a clear timescale and what we hoping to achieve throughout the project.

“Can you write a song in any style?”

We have written 100s of songs in many styles, and have achieved success in various genres including rock, country, heavy metal, pop, jazz, blues, instrumental, funk, soul, synthwave, retrowave, chillwave, reggae, singer-songwriter, folk and world music. Please message us to discuss your project and we will always give you an honest answer to what we can achieve in your desired genre.

“I already have lyrics or a poem, can you put these to music?”

Yes, this is quite a common request and we have worked with clients lyrics or poems and put them to music. We can work with a lyrical idea no matter how big or small.

“I already have some musical ideas, can you work with these?”

Again, this is a common request and we have written many songs in this way. Sometimes a client has a chorus, but no verse, or a melodic idea that needs chords and a structure. We are able to work with your musical ideas no matter what stage they are at”

“Do I have to credit you for your work?”

For much for our work, we offer a ‘buy out’ – meaning we provide our service as ‘work for hire’ and you retain all commercial rights and copyright. In that scenario, you don’t have to credit us, and this has been the case with projects where we have been ghostwriters, however, you can also credit us if you wish and still retain all the commercial rights and copyright.

“Can you provide Stems?”

Stems are the individual tracks that make up a ‘mix’ of a song. Yes, we can provide these, as well as our mix.
