DyHard Productions formed in 2013, and we soon achieved contracts with Melco Crown to write music and soundtracks for several high profile casino entertainment projects.
Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited is a developer, owner and operator of integrated resorts with entertainment and casino gaming facilities in Asia and Europe. Based in Hong Kong, the company is listed on the NASDAQ.
‘River Of Light’
The ‘River of Light’ was an entertainment project for the City of Dreams in Macau. As shoppers moved through the mall a frequent light show would entertain them. For this project we developed a pirate based theme, in the style of a sea shanty, that took into account the lighting and other elements.
Sirens Waterfall
We were commissioned to write, record and mix 40 short pieces of music for the Sirens Waterfall feature in City of Dreams, Manila. They ranged from soundscape pieces to short pop songs, and for each piece we wrote to picture. Each of the 40 tracks had a slightly different theme and some incorporated world music elements. We completed this project in 10 days, it was an intense but extremely satisfying project.
Soho Musion Screen
We produced and wrote the music for 4 animated music videos. These are being shown on the 3D Musion screen in the SOHO area of the City of Dreams casino in Macau. Each video has a different theme, and a style of music to fit. Not only did we come up with the concept for each video, but we then hired the animators to work with us and wrote the soundtrack to each film.
During this time we also developed a working relationship with Ptarmigan Integration, Asia’s leading systems integrator, and worked on the following projects with them:
Galaxy Casino Light Show Soundtrack
For this project, we worked on a large team that included lighting directors. When composing we worked with a ‘beat map’ provided to us by the lighting team. The light show was to be a major installation at the Galaxy Casino in Macau. The light shows were based on the themes of ‘Action’, ‘Sci-Fi’, ‘James Bond’, ‘Moon Festival’ and ‘Chinese New Year’, and the soundtracks were detailed pieces that moved from orchestral sections to rock, pop and world music.
Cosmos – Studio City
Alongside Ptarmigan Integration and Melco Crown, we developed the 45-minute soundtrack for the Cosmos dining area in the Studio City Casino. The area is designed with a Space theme, and the soundtrack emphasised that atmosphere, providing guests with a unique dining experience.
At DyHard Productions we are accustomed to the corporate environment, and we undertake meetings around the world while consulting and working on projects. We are comfortable as part of a creative team, writing to picture and also beat maps. We like to think we’re easy to work with and bring commitment and creativity to every project we undertake.
